Things You Can Do with the Edge-Guide:

The Standard Ellipse set up made it possible to cut twelve identical half-ellipse pieces that were joined together with cleats and skinned with 1/8" bending poplar. This created a mold for some elliptical / cylindrical casework for two cabinets we recently built for one of our preferred clients. These 'half-cylinders' were to be built into operable french doors.

The figured anigre venier used on the interior of each cabinet was glued up with successive layers of 1/8" bending poplar until a thickness of 5/8" was achieved. The curved 'plywood' assemblies were then set in the cradle shown below so that face frames could be clamped on.

| Our Standard Ellipse Jig was used to cut the individual members of the cradle. It solved the problem of having no place to clamp to on the curved backs of the cabinets. | ||||||||||||

| Here's one of the final, unfinished products built into a french door. When installed, with low-voltage down lighting, they appear to be built-in display cabinets. The french doors open to provide access to a storage closet off the client's living room. We'll post a 'finished product' photo as soon as we get one. | ||||||||||||
