Fluting and reeding can lend an attractive design element to door and window casings. Surely the most efficient way to cut these details is with a shaper. If, however, the project is of a 'one-off' nature, or if a shaper /shaper knives are not avaiable, the Micro Fence (basic edge guide) can handle the task in relatively simple fashion

The equal spacings needed to create attractive looking reeds or flutes can be measured with our micrometer dial .
